Sunday is Dad’s special day and we’ll be living it up with a Father’s Day brunch. It probably involves a little viewing of the PGA’s major golf tournament, the US Open, but as long as Dad is happy, we’re happy. Jocelyn and I will be serving gourmet burgers with all the trimmings, grilled corn on the cob, homemade potato chips, and anything else that we can grill or fry. And then of course, there will be a few incredible cocktails for everyone to enjoy, made with Patrón Tequila, a favorite of ours and our dad’s.
And since we’ve teamed up with Patrón Tequila to bring you Tequila Summer, we’d love for you to join us at the Patrón Social Club, where you, and even dad, can access more cocktail recipes and the locations of great bars and restaurants in your neighborhood.
This drink is built for the Dad who mans the grill, flips the burgers, rotates the corn, and basically stays far, far away from the kitchen.
Grill Quencher 1.5 ounces Patrón Silver 2 ounces light beer 2 tablespoons limeade Dash of Himalayan salt Ice cubes
Limeade Recipe: Squeeze enough limes (about 2) for 1/3 cup of lime juice. Add 2 tablespoons of organic sugar and mix until the sugar has dissolved.
Directions: Pour the Patrón Silver, light beer, and limeade into a glass filled with ice. Gently mix, then sprinkle a bit of salt into the ice cubes. If desired, you can also rim the glass with Himalayan salt and also add more lime.
This drink will knock your socks off, but in a good way. It’s one of those cocktails that offer a subtle culinary experience with each sip. Your palette will meet the lime first, then the olive juice, followed by the smoothness of the Patrón Silver, and finish with the heat of the hot sauce. We think you’ll love it!
Salty Fire Cocktail 1.5 ounces Patrón Silver 1 ounce light beer ¾ ounce olive juice ½ ounce lime juice 10 dashes hot sauce
Directions: Pour the Patrón Silver, olive juice, lime juice, and hot sauce into a martini shaker filled with ice. Shake well, then strain into a glass filled with ice. Top with the light beer and gently stir. Garnish with olives and limes.
