Summer Cocktails: Hot Lemon Drop & El Diablo Cocktail Recipes

Teq Sum IconElectrify your taste buds this summer with a little heat or some zing. The Hot Lemon Drop and popular El Diablo will please your palette and quench your thirst. The next time you’re out and don’t know what you “feel like” ordering, try these two conversation sippers.

We’ve been using the Patrón Social Club and our Patrón Tequila Summer Map to find delicious cocktails just like these, which makes going out on a summer night a breeze.

 El Diablo

El Diablo 2 ounces Patrón Silver 2 ounces ginger beer ½ ounce crème de cassis 1 teaspoon fresh ginger juice Squeeze of one lime wedge Garnish with lime wedge and candied ginger

Directions: Fill a tumbler with ice. Add the Patrón Silver, ginger beer, crème de cassis, fresh ginger juice and lime juice. Stir and serve.

Hot Lemon Drop 2 ounces homemade lemonade (recipe below) ½ ounce agave 1/8 teaspoon Chile powder 1.5 ounces Patrón Reposado Sugar & Chile powder mix for rim

Directions: Mix the Chile powder into the agave syrup and stir until the majority of the powder is dissolved. You will still see specks of Chile in the agave. Pour the agave with Chile powder, homemade lemonade, and Patrón Reposado into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well to evenly distribute the agave syrup, then strain into a glass rimmed with sugar and Chile powder.

Homemade Lemonade Juice from 2 lemons (about 1/3 cup) 2 tablespoons sugar (add more if you like it sweet!) ¼ cup water
