It had been a long time since we'd had a bourbon milk punch cocktail but with National Bourbon Month here and all we dug into our dozens of cocktail books to find some of the best recipes to share with you. We made a list of ten to feature before the end of the month and here's one from the top of the list. Holy goodness it this drink divine. It's everything you want a rich and creamy bourbon drink to be and tastes like every fall and winter holiday you love rolled into one. Punch implies that you've got to make a huge vat of it (which we highly recommend), but a single serving is easy to make and guaranteed not to go to waste. Though this drink is good any time of day, the brunch and dessert hour is an especially fantastic time to serve this classic recipe.
Bourbon Milk Punch 2 ounces bourbon 3 ounce half & half 1 teaspoon sugar ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions Combine the sugar and the bourbon in a shaker, and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Put about a cup of ice in, then add the half & half, vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg. Shake well and strain into a martini or rocks glass. Dust with a layer of ground nutmeg and serve.
