Four years ago today our blog was born. We were sitting in La Cabana with our friend and consulting mastermind, Regan Phillips, seeking advice on how to roll out our first book, This Girl Walks Into a Bar. We knew that in this age of publishing, the creators of books are the ones expected to do the heavy lifting. Sure there are PR firms and publisher reps and blah blah blah. But we wanted to do everything in our power to make our book a huge success.
Regan's advice? "Start a blog." We said, "What would we write about?"
Hahahahahahahhahahahaha.
Next week we're introducing our second book, This Girl Minds Her Ps & Qs (our subscribers all got invited to the party!), and next April, we're debuting our recipe book, Cocktails for Cougars & Cowgirls. We've had the privilege of working with some amazing companies, especially BevMo! and specifically Kris Mulkey, who like the most awesomest person ever. We're also grateful for all the PR firms who call upon us for specialty work, and all the custom assignments for fabulous companies like Dole®, Tabasco®, eHarmony, Gallo Wine, Caesarstone, California Black Olives, Patrón Tequila, Dry Soda, Bosch, Thermador, and many others.
We'll be celebrating in Palm Springs this weekend in a major way, and will include you in all the festivities via our blog, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Thanks for being with us during this special journey, and for celebrating this milestone with us (that's your excuse to hit up happy hour early today). In dog years, four years of blogging is actually like 21 years. So let's get this party started and kick off four more years of it!
