There are many variations of a Lemon Drop, which is why this cocktail remains so popular despite being a bit of a '90s drink. We love this recipe for its perfect balance between sweet and tart, and for its versatility. There aren't too many meals a Lemon Drop won't compliment and there isn't a single month when we wouldn't serve this drink to our friends. It's really that good. Start with squeezing fresh lemons. You'll need ¾ of an ounce for each drink.
Run one of the squeezed lemons around the rim of your martini glass to make it moist, then dip the rim into a thin layer of sugar, shaking off any excess.
Fill a martini shaker with ice and add the vodka, lemon juice, and limoncello. Shake well, then strain into a glass a glass. Garnish with a lemon and serve.
Lemon Drop Martini Cocktail 2 ounces vodka ¾ ounce limoncello ¾ fresh lemon juice Lemon wheel or wedge for garnish
PS Don't shy away from the sugar rim if you're watching you're figure - we're talking 5 extra calories. And remember that this cocktail is also perfect for shots.
