Yum. Just yum. An icy cold bottle of Leinenkugel's Cranberry Ginger Shandy is about as close as you can get to drinking November in a bottle. Fans of the brand simply refer to it as Leinie's, and there are a lot of fans. The Leinenkugel family has been brewing in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin since 1867. I think perhaps they've had a chance to perfect their recipe.
This super mellow "beer" (4.2% Alcohol) is exactly the kind of beverage we like to enjoy while cooking all day long. Mild yet flavorful, and a cousin of hard cider, you can enjoy a few in the kitchen without worrying that you'll burn the bird.
Good straight from the bottle, (we love the grapefruit, strawberry, tart green apple, lemon, and pineapple notes), it's also a superb mixer. Try it with a couple ounces of spiced rum, bourbon, reposado, or vodka. On a Moscow Mule kick? Replace the ginger beer with this cranberry ginger shandy and tell your friends it's your own original Thanksgiving drink. It's verrrrrry good.
